The control valve if not scratched badly will work .
dissasemble and clean .
the spool will need scuffed lightly , (the easy way ) around the seal area
in cirular motion . with 1200 wet dry paper a used piece and light oil is good .
I try not to mess with reaction counter valve If one is used ,
the new seals i get from "the oring store LLC " no6226-11 will be in ball park
their are other seals too order several . the cost low .
Before assembly , from old mercury dealer guy , and this works
soak those new seals in Dot -3 brake fluid For 15-20 min max . and more time is notbetter . assemble still wet . with fingers . tighten ball stud till slop is out then add
1/2 turn and drop in pin .
Hook hoses up . and pour in Duralube engine treatment I want to treat those
piston ring and spool metal itself , a half bottle will do . pour it in first
top off with ford recommended fluid for that day .
the cap at the other end Centers the spool so the thin paper gasket is needed .
your done .
