Well I could say that I joined the club but I guess that I have joined the family. I am just completing the purchase of a 1957 Ford Fairlane Skyliner. It had been restored and I feel that am so lucky to get it. It is going to be delivered to our house in Ontario from Alberta, by closed transport. I just can't wait for it to arrive and I hope the snow leaves soon so I can drive it!

That's fantastic... Congrats! I hope it gives you miles and miles of fun. And lots of those special times when you're not going anywhere; just running the top up and down for the dazzled spectators. :)

So I'm curious, coming from Alberta... is it a Canadian produced car? I know some of the Fords had slightly different trim packages/designs than their U.S. built cousins to the south.

So actually the car was imported from California and the owner in Alberta restored it, I think. I was under the impression that Skyliners were not built in Canada but I don't know that for sure. I am still learning a lot of history here. I can't wait for the car to arrive and I hope the snow disappears at the same time! And thank you for the good wishes.

I think you're probably right about that. I don't recall ever seeing a Skyliner with the Canadian style trim that was sported by other Ford models of that era.
