Muffler

Does anyone have a current number for the correct muflers for a 57 retrac? It is correct to assume the number is the same for all 57 Fairlane models?

Clay,
the muffler used on the convertible and retractable is different from all other fairlanes. Due to the x-member in the frame, the muffler body is shorter with a longer inlet pipe. However, the overall length is the same-inlet pipe opening to outlet pipe opening. To my knowledge, no-one is reproducing this muffler. For my cars i usually use a glasspack with a 2" inlet & outlet then a 2" extension pipe for the inlet to get the oal length correct. Hope this helps.
