Here in the Uk a few of us enthusiast are keen to know the answer to this question.When did the Fairlane become a Galaxie.Was it late 58.

The early 1959 models were the Fairlane 500 those were built in 1958, by 1959 they would become the Galaxie, that name replaced the Fairlane 500.
So some of the early 1959 models would be Fairlane 500's, the Galaxie name is on most of the 59s but even the Galaxie still had Fairlane badging along with the Galaxie emblems.
The early 1959 Fairlane models also had black lines in the rear quarter washboard.

Thankyou for that.It is interesting.My 59 was built on 23 January.But first registered on 25 may 59.I have no black lines on the rear quarter washboard.
