'59 Skyliner Power Steering Valve
My local mechanic installed a "rebuild kit" in my steering control valve, now it seems to have a "hitch" & will suddenly oversteer in sharper curves, quite un-nerving,,, I'm wondering if he installed the cups backwards on the spool. does someone have a CLEAR exploded view of said valve?
Thanks.

Does the oversteer problem happen more at higher speed than at low. If so, it might be the same problem I've had for a while. See my post "handling problem 10-20-2015".

Here is a good video on how to rebuild one, it says Mustang but there the same for the most part, pay attention to the adjustment to the spool that is done by removing the cap at the end of video.

It could also be that the suspension was adjusted wrong. If one side is off, it can cause over steer issues. I m speaking of the toe in.

I agree handling problems . Today in a 4000 + lbs car 32 psi Is min .
I have Tried a Positive caster in my squarebird , and see Zero gain doing so , I will rig for 2-1/4 /2-1/2 deg neg and 16th tow in when weather warms up .
remove old dried bushings At bothends of the ram , get new ones
The screw in adjustment where the Stop pin goes , needs to be at the half way range between zero slop on ball socket and as tight as it will go .
I took all slop out of mine then another 1/3 turn . this is Important in drift also
